Im a Gleek

This week I chose to put my reading work on that The Elephants/Monkeys were doing. We were given words to look for while we were reading The Island Of The White Spear.

I chose to put this on because I did a good job at putting the words to there meanings because I got 5 out of 7 right.

Yellow Hat: WALT find words that we have been given in our book and work out what the mean without the dictionary.I did this well I only got 2 out of 7 wrong.

Black Hat: Next time I need to try and get it all finished.

This week I am putting one of the quetions from the reading contract on. I chose to do this because I thought that I did a good job at answering it and I got 14/15 on it. he question is number 3 in part one of the contract we had to explain 7 eco features.

Yellow Hat: WALT Find out eco features of buildings. I did this weel because I got it finished and I got a mark of 14/15.

Black Hat: Next time I need to try and get 15/15.

This week I chosse to put my reading on because I thought that I had presented it well and described what I thought about the book well.

In reading this week the Tree Climing Elephants were given a sheet and we had to asses the book that we had been given it was  called The Island Of The White Spear. We had to asses the cover design the Title and also the  Blurb on how it hooks us in.

My Reading Work

 Yellow Hat: WALT: Asses a  book on the Cover Design, Blurb and Title. I did this well because I think I did a good job at describing my thoughts. Example: The blurb hooks me in with what hte athour has written and the fonts that have been used. It makes you really want to read the story because there are some unanswerd questions that seem like the answer  could be dangerous.

Black Hat: I need to improve on assing books by there looks because I didnt do a very good job with the cover design.

This week we have been learning how to tell the difference between formal and informal writing. We had to write an informal paragraph and turn it into a formal paragraph.

The reason why this is my WOW this week is A.Mr.C  said that this is what we had to put on and B. I thought I did a good  job at changing my informal paragraph to a formal.

Informal Paragraph

Yellow Hat: WALT Know and identify the difference between a formal and informal piece of writing. I did this well because it is easy to tell which paragraph is formal and which one is informal. This is important because if I was to write a letter to an adult I would need to write it in formal writing and if I didn’t know what it was I would write it wrong.

Black Hat: WALT; Know and identify the differance between Formal and informal Writing. I need to work on learning  coloqureal words because I need to know more informal word than kids, play ect. 

Best descriptive paragraph in my story.

This Week we had to write a recount on something we did in the holidays. I chose to write about the snow that fell on Monday.

Mrc told us that this was our WOW . 

Yellow Hat: WALT: Write descriptivly to make the reader be hooked in and get a picture in there head. I did this well because my writing is descriptive and I think I did really well.

Black Hat: WALT write our storys based on a five minute time period. I havent done this very well because my story on a whole day and it is very very long so I need to work on it. The reason why I need to make them shorter so that th reader dosnt get bored.   

My Plan

I chose this for my WOW because it was the first time I had done Factorising and I did quite well on it.
Yellow Hat: I Got 9 out of 10 of these quetions right and it was my first time.
Black Hat: Next time I need to try and get all of the questions right.

This Is My Multiplying Using Factorising Maths Work.

This week for Writing we had a competition to see who could hang off a bar in the Playground for the longest then we wrote about our thoughts an feelings throughout the competition.

I chose this for my WOW this week because I thought it was a good story and Mr C said we could use them for or WOW. 

My Plan

This week we started a new Reading contract and I decided to add a question as my WOW this week.

I chosse this because before I researched this I never knew what our nails were made out of.

Our nails are made out of something called Keratin this is the same thing that the the hairs on the top layer of skin are made out of.

This week I chose my Student Spotlight which is something a Student is picked for every week.

I chose this because Ithought I did a very good job at presenting it.

This week I chosse to put a question from our Reading Contract.

I chosse this because the answer is very intersting.

How many bones are in our body?

When we are born we have 300 bones in our Body but when we are an adult we have only 206 bones in our body.

This is caused by as we get older our Bones join together.
